LBS start-up FRESH4CAST completes oversubscribed investment round

Mihai Ciobanu, Miguel Molina, Francisco Teixeira de Goeye (all SLN2013) identified an information gap in a large, growing market: international trade of fresh fruit. Their young venture offers a novel data service to address this gap.

Fresh4cast recently completed a seed investment round, bringing together investors with expertise in fresh fruits, technology start-ups and finance. In the second half of 2014, the service is being launched in Latin America and continental Europe.

The business idea was developed within London Business School – viability tested during Entrepreneurship Summer School and the business plan built during the New Venture Development elective. After graduation in January 2014, the team was accepted onto UKTI’s Sirius programme, designed to attract high-potential global ventures to the UK. This included a 12-week block with Accelerator Academy in London, which helped the venture sharpen its value proposition and become investment-ready.

London Business School has played a key role in the investment round as well, and continues to be the “spiritual home” for the team at Fresh4cast.
